Used to time his cigarette breaks from the wool factory where he worked so he’d meet my 11 year old dad from school and have a chat with him. Everyday. Small kindnesses like that undo me. What a kind chap.

Arnold's rocky road
150g milk chocolate 150g dark chocolate 175g butter 60ml golden syrup 200g amaretti biscuit  150g brazil or pistachio nuts 150g glace cherries  125g mini marshmallows 1 tablespoon of Amaretto Method: Melt, crush and add biscuits, nuts, cherries and marshmallows. Pour into a tray and cool in the fridge. *Arnold is my Grandma Winnie’s neighbour.
